Rock band drum kit quieted by crochet covers

Is your Rock Band drumming keeping the neighbors awake all night long? Are they ready to call the police on you? If that’s the case, look no further than these soft and cozy crocheted covers designed to quiet your percussive emissions.

Rock Band Drum Cosies by FunkieFresh

Created Long Beach, CA textile artist FunkieFresh, the set of handmade covers ties around each of the game’s four drums and helps them keep them down to a dull roar. I’ve seen other solutions to this problem (like some boring adhesive foam discs), but none which were so artfully crafted.

Hand Knit Rock Band Drum Covers

As an added bonus, each pad is crocheted using colors that properly match the original drum hues, so if you’re used to playing by color, not drum position, you’re totally in luck.

You can pick up a full set of Rock Band drum cozies on her Etsy shop for $40.

star wars amigurumi

Wer sagt, daß Stern-Kriege ganz über manly Sachen wie lightsabers, Todessterne und Darth Vader sein muß? Warum nicht kann es über Schmetterlinge, Welpen und das Spielen mit Puppen sein?

Who says that Star Wars has to be all about manly things like lightsabers, Death Stars and Darth Vader? Why can’t it be about butterflies, puppies and playing with dolls?

Star Warsh Amigurumi

Crafter Sammi Resendes of Geek Central Station sure thinks that the classic sci-fi epic can be just as sweet as a roomful of cuddly kittens rolled in confectioners sugar. These handmade Amigurumi residents of the Star Wars universe are so cute they make me want to puke (it’s almost like that time a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain).

The collection of pint-sized crocheted figures include Admiral Ackbar, Leia, Chewbacca, Han Solo and Yoda, all created in stuffed form. They’re accompanied by tiny little weapons and other accessories made out of Sculpey clay.

Princess Leia and Han Solo Stuffed

Up next in her Star Wars series, she plans on making cute and cuddly versions of Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and R2D2. You can check out more pictures over on Flickr.

If you’d like to get your hands on some of her Amigurumi geekery for yourself, be sure to stop Sammi’s Etsy shop.
